Meet Dr. Kogan

Dr. Kogan is passionate about helping others and having a positive impact in people’s lives. For Dr. Kogan, dentistry represents the perfect mix of service, art, and, science.

Dr. Kogan has practiced dentistry for over 20 years. After dental school, she continued her postgraduate studies in 2003 with a General Practice Residency in Dentistry at Berkshire Medical Center, a University of Massachusetts affiliated hospital. During the residency she developed expertise in all phases of general dentistry, while treating medically-compromised patients and patients with special needs. Dr Kogan moved back to the Washington DC area in 2005 as an associate dentist, and has been in private practice in Northern VA since then.

Dr. Kogan joined Dr. Silverman’s office in 2012. In 2013, Dr. Silverman decided to semi-retire and Dr. Kogan took over the practice. Dr. Silverman introduced Dr. Kogan to his patients: “I’ve witnessed Dr. Kogan’s great dental skills, experience, warm personality and her commitment to provide the best quality dental care to each and every patient”. Her conservative approach, like Dr. Silverman’s, is refreshing and reassuring. Dr. Silverman retired in 2024 and is happily enjoying his time with family and friends, while he continues to bike and sail. 

Quality and patient centered care is the focus of her practice. Dr. Kogan is constantly searching for new ways to ensure that her patients have the most comfortable and anxiety-free experience possible.

A strong believer in continue education, Dr. Kogan continues to further her education in all areas of dentistry. She stays up to date with technology, techniques, and materials.

Dr. Kogan participates in local Spear Study Clubs, Spear Seminars, and Workshops. She is an Invisalign provider, and a member of the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Virginia Dental Association
  • Northern Virginia Dental Society
  • Academy of General Dentistry

Dr. Kogan is married to her husband, Julian. They have two daughters: Sol and Maia. When she is not in the office, Dr. Kogan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing tennis, and swimming.
